The Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine
SASPRM is a group of doctors who are passionate about developing physical and rehabilitation medicine services in South Africa. These services should be readily available in all major areas.
SASPRM aims to support the registered medical practitioners as they meet, network, train and advocate for the practice of physical and rehabilitation medicine in South Arica.
Our Misson
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with any impairments, whether temporary or permanent by promoting best practices, supporting research, and developing collaboration among all healthcare professionals.
We strive for comprehensive, compassionate, and effective rehabilitation care.
We will accomplish our mission by:
Establishing the presence of PRM in South Africa.
Developing and training doctors to become experts in PRM in collaboration with the International Rehabilitation Forum (IRF).
Work with the Colleges of Medicine to have PRM recognised.
Improving access to physical medicine and rehabilitation services in South Africa.
Supporting other established professional societies.
Improve training & funding opportunities in state and private healthcare systems in South Africa for doctors interested in a career in PRM.
